Panama's dry season is also festival season. In a few weeks you can go from jazz concerts in Panama City to the flower gardens of Boquete, and then to Carnival on the long February weekend. These are the 2027 dates confirmed so far, what to expect at each event and how to get there.
Panama Jazz Festival · 14 to 16 January 2027
The 24th edition of the Panama Jazz Festival has been announced for 14 to 16 January 2027, with venues across Panama City. The festival mixes international artists with Panamanian musicians, and it has a strong education program for young players. Check the festival's official channels for the line-up and tickets.
Getting there: arriving at Tocumen Airport? Book a private airport transfer to your hotel. Coming from Santa Catalina or Boquete, take our shuttle to Panama City the day before the concerts you want to see.
Boquete Flower and Coffee Fair · mid-January
Boquete's Feria Internacional de las Flores y del Café usually runs for about ten days in mid-January on the fairgrounds beside the Caldera River. Expect thousands of flowers in themed gardens, local coffee, including the famous Geisha variety, crafts and food. The fair draws well over a hundred thousand visitors, so hotels and transport book up early. Confirm the 2027 dates with the organizers before you travel.
Getting there: shared shuttles connect Boquete with Santa Catalina and Bocas del Toro. Book a week or more ahead during the fair.
Carnival · 6 to 9 February 2027
Carnival is Panama's biggest party, four days of music, parades and culecos, where trucks spray the crowds with water. It runs from Saturday 6 to Tuesday 9 February 2027, and Tuesday is a public holiday. Las Tablas, on the Azuero Peninsula, is the most famous Carnival town, with its historic rivalry between Calle Arriba and Calle Abajo. After the earthquake of 9 October 2026, the plans for Las Tablas in 2027 have not been confirmed, so check local news before you book. Panama City and other towns also hold Carnival events.
Getting there: the whole country travels at Carnival. Reserve your shuttles three to four weeks ahead, and plan to travel before Friday and after Wednesday when you can.
Holy Week · 21 to 28 March 2027
Easter Sunday falls on 28 March 2027. Holy Week is a family holiday in Panama: beaches and mountain towns fill up, and some businesses close on Holy Thursday and Good Friday. Many towns hold religious processions during the week.
Getting there: book early for the Wednesday and the Sunday, the busiest travel days of the week.
